It's time to generate ideas, interest or topics that we should cover at WA-ACTE and or other regional mini-conference.

Also time to review vendors for certificates and think that maybe we should utilize some of our time at WA-ACTE to look at certification program. These have been contacted and now working to determine program, benefits, costs and possible interest to present.

SkillsUSA Certification: The SkillsUSA Work Force Ready System provides assessments that are supported by Industry, education and policy leaders. The assessments were developed by the Technical Skills Advisory committees and list the competencies that students have passed within the assessment. The cost of the service is $20 per assessment, however SkillsUSA Chapter receive a discount equal to the number of member they have in their chapter (if you had 10 members you would receive 10 assessments at &10.00 the rest would be $20). These certificate are accepted to meet Carl Perkins performance indicators of certificate earned. 45 programs areas have assessments. Go to www.workforcereadysystem.org for more information.
CareerSafe: Online OSHA course is a Web-based, interactive, program addressing the high-priority safety training needs of young workers in English and Spanish. OSHA 10-Hour General Industry and Construction Industry Training.  This is a voucher program and which includes the cost for the CareerSafe Safety Awareness Training course is $12 per student and the OSHA 10-hour General Industry and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry training courses are only $18.00 per student. NOCTI: Job Ready assessments that offers certificate for students based on blueprints designed to meet industry standards. Pricing is varied and ranges from study guides, on-line Pre and Post-Test. Go to www.nocti.org for more information.
WoodLnks: The WoodLINKS USA (WL USA) industry-education partnership is a unique program that assists schools in providing relevant, industry-supported, broad-based career education to secondary and Post-secondary school students.  Students who successfully complete the program receive international, industry-recognized, certification.  Industry and educators throughout the US and Canada recognize WL USA as a leading-edge example of industry-education cooperation that helps students get jobs and helps industry access potential employees with an appropriate educational foundation.
